About Our Firm
Since our firm was founded by T. Paul Tremont in 1960, we have championed the cause of those seriously injured and abused through the fault of others, and, in the process, we have helped change the law to better serve them.
Our lawyers have handled some of the biggest and most complex cases in Connecticut relating to car crashes, motorcycle accidents, medical malpractice, childhood sexual abuse and workers’ compensation. They have over 100 combined years of experience, and they are able to use that experience to best serve our clients and help them achieve the best resolutions possible.
At Tremont Sheldon P.C., our name represents not only how we are recognized but also our core values. We believe strongly in giving everyone a voice, no matter who they are or what they have been through. We also believe in being transparent with our clients and guiding them through every step in their case. Our clients have access to their attorneys and supporting team members throughout the process.

Our Location
We are proud to be in Bridgeport. Tremont Sheldon P.C. has been in the same historic building across from City Hall (formerly Central High School, long ago) and near the courthouses for over 60 years. You can easily reach us from all parts of Connecticut, as we are near Route 95, Route 8 and Route 25. We also have a secure private parking lot.
Our building is dedicated to only our office, giving you privacy, and it has several conference rooms, private workspaces and even a kitchen. While our building is over 100 years old, we have modernized it with the latest technology to accommodate virtual court hearings, online depositions and Zoom meetings with our clients.
Throughout the years, we have used our building on logos and other materials, and it is part of who we are. We could not imagine being anywhere else. Our building is home to us, and we like that it feels professional but with a more personal touch. We are grateful to have a space in which clients feel comfortable and at ease.
About Our Founder, T. Paul Tremont
T. Paul Tremont grew up in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and lived in a cold-water flat (no hot water) with many family members not far from our office. He was the first in his family to attend college. He later completed a three-year law degree at Georgetown University in two years due to his hard work and academic prowess. He teamed up with Robert Sheldon in the 1970s, forming Tremont Sheldon P.C..
Paul was known as one of the best trial attorneys in the state of Connecticut – one who was never afraid to go up against “the big guy” to represent the underdog, as evinced by his relentless pursuit of bringing justice to childhood sexual abuse victims in the early 1990s. He was extremely philanthropic over his lifetime, giving back to the Bridgeport community and Fairfield University, which took a chance on a kid from Bridgeport. He was also an incredible cook and able to make anything from nothing – probably from growing up and helping his father in his luncheonette.
Paul’s legacy continues in the clients we proudly represent and fight for every day. In 2001, former Bridgeport mayor Joseph Ganim designated May 14 as T. Paul Tremont Day to recognize his contributions to the community and the legal profession.
