$1.5 Million Awarded to 12-Year-Old Girl Paralyzed in Swimming Pool Accident
A 12-year-old girl was paralyzed in a swimming pool accident while at a birthday party. The pool, which was manufactured by Weatherking Products, Inc., was not affixed with depth markers, warning labels, or other adequate signs informing individuals, especially children, not to dive into certain parts of the pool. Through the discovery process, Tremont Sheldon P.C. obtained information that for years the pool industry has been aware of these tragic accidents yet has not put up warning signs, decals, and markers because they would have an adverse effect on swimming pool sales. Tremont Sheldon P.C. has collected in excess of $1.5 million for the injured girl.
