Four Hospitals Recently Ranked Worst in CT for Adverse Events

Four hospitals were recently named for having the highest number of adverse events in the state, according to a list compiled by the Connecticut Department of Public Health and covers the year 2011.
The four hospitals named in the Adverse Event Report are:
1. Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, Torrington
2. Sharon Hospital; New Milford Hospital
3. Stamford Hospital
4. The Hospital of Central Connecticut, in Southington and New Britain
The firm has experience representing patients who have been harmed by perforations during laparoscopic and endoscopic procedures, as well as cases in which colonoscopies were not performed in a timely manner. In a recent case, the firm recovered more than $800,000 for a patient who developed cancer that was not detected by the regular sigmoidoscopies that her doctor had recommended instead of the more thorough colonoscopy procedure.
