Attorney Doug Mahoney President of the CTLA 2013-2014
June 12, 2013
On June 10, 2013, Doug Mahoney was elected, by its members, to serve as President of the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association (CTLA) for the 2013-2014 term. The Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association is a fellowship of over 1,300 attorneys in Connecticut dedicated to protecting the rights of plaintiffs and to becoming better trial attorneys. In existence for more than fifty years, the CTLA has become one of the most recognized and influential bar associations in Connecticut. CTLA offices are located in downtown Hartford and are fully staffed to provide educational services to attorneys throughout Connecticut. In addition, CTLA and its lobbyists work on a daily basis to protect the rights of Connecticut citizens at the Capitol.
Tremont Sheldon Robinson Mahoney P.C. has long been a strong supporter of the CTLA. Mr. Mahoney is the third lawyer from Tremont Sheldon Robinson Mahoney to serve as President of the CTLA; Paul Tremont was elected President in 1974 and Bob Sheldon was elected as President in 1995. In addition, every attorney at Tremont Sheldon Robinson Mahoney P.C. either serves on the Board of Governors of the CTLA or Chairs one of its sections.
Mr. Mahoney has served the CTLA since becoming a member of the bar. For many years he chaired its Membership Committee, chaired the Bridgeport People’s Law School, served on the Public Relations and Budget Committees, has been a member of the Board of Governors and of the Executive Committee as well as holding every officer position. He has also lectured for years on behalf of CTLA at its seminars.
