Attorney Frank Bailey Leads Law Day Observance

Attorney Frank Bailey is chairman of the Greater Bridgeport Bar Association’s Law Day observance. The GBBA sponsored a luncheon at the Bridgeport Holiday Inn to recognize Law Day on April 29th.

This year’s theme is American Democracy and the Rule of Law: Why Every Vote Matters. It is a celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965. Secretary of State Denise Merrill will be the keynote speaker and will discuss the importance of a citizen’s right to vote and the challenges we still face in ensuring that all Americans have the opportunity to participate in our democracy. Local area students received prizes for the best essays relating to the “American Democracy and the Rule of Law; Why Every Vote Matters” theme.
