Kayla Mooney, 23, a Danbury High School teacher has been charged with second degree sexual assault and for providing alcohol to a minor. There have been several similar sounding stories in the news recently. Timothy Leonard, a Wilton public school teacher was charged with sexually assaulting a 14 year old boy. Brian Stroh, a Bethel public schools teacher, was charged with sexually abusing three children. In addition to these cases, Tremont Sheldon Robinson Mahoney, represents former students of the Stamford public schools who were abused by a former teacher named Robert Martinez as well as former students of the Newington public schools who were abused by one of their teachers, James Brown.

Connecticut State Police have arrested Brian Stroh, 30, of New Fairfield and charged him with 3 counts of sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor. The reported victims are six, nine and eleven years old. Christina Carver, Superintendent of Bethel CT Schools, confirmed that Mr. Stroh was a first grade teacher at the Frank A. Berry Elementary School in Bethel until his resignation on February 19. Mr. Stroh has also been affiliated with camps in the towns of Ridgefield, New Fairfield and Redding. He has been released on $250,000 bail but is confined to his home.

The group hopes to work in conjunction with other agencies in order to formulate and promote a plan to combat child sex trafficking.

According to recent media reports, a boarding school in Salisbury, Connecticut is facing a lawsuit and is from a former student over sexual abuse claims. The alleged incidents date back at least 30 years. The legal filings indicate that in the mid 198-'s the student was not only the subject of ritualized sexual hazing by other students at the boarding school, but that he was also raped by a teacher.

BRIDGEPORT, Feb. 11, 2015 - Two former students of the Rogers School in Stamford have filed separate lawsuits alleging sexual abuse and assault by a teacher. These are the fourth and fifth cases to be filed in connection with abuse by the same individual - and more are expected.
Consistent with the stated zero tolerance policy of the Diocese of Bridgeport, Bishop Caggiano has suspended a Fairfield County priest based upon "credible evidence" that Stephen DeLuca had abused a child. Father Stephen DeLuca had been serving as a priest in residence at St. Catherine of Siena parish in Riverside, Connecticut and also serving as chaplain to Greenwich Hospital.
