Saturday Night Live Sexual Abuse Skit

Just this past weekend a "Saturday Night Live" skit about a male student having sex with his female high school teacher painted the relationship as every teen boy's dream, but drew a firestorm of criticism on social media. Teacher sexual abuse, no matter what gender, leaves the victim with a lifetime of emotional scars. In Connecticut in the last several months, 2 female teacher sex abuse cases have received lots of media attention (one in Madison and one in Stamford). Female teacher sex abuse, as discussed in the Reuters article, is now being vigorously prosecuted.

St. Vincent's Medical Center facing sexual assault lawsuit

Hospitals are places where the sick go to heal and get better. No one expects to be a victim of a sexual assault while they are ill and in a vulnerable state. Our Bridgeport, Connecticut, residents may find it alarming to learn that recently, a former patient at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport has filed a civil lawsuit against the hospital. According to the lawsuit, the former patient is alleging that a nursing assistant employed by the hospital sexually assaulted him during his stay at the hospital. He is seeking nearly $25 million in damages.

Comedian Bill Cosby accused of sexual assault

Our Connecticut residents have likely heard or read about the recent sexual abuse accusations a couple of women have brought against comedian Bill Cosby. According to media reports a woman, now a journalist and publicist, who met the comedian in 1969 indicated that Cosby had sexually assaulted her nearly 45 years ago when she was only 19-years-old.

David Kress of Thompson Connecticut has been charged with sexually abusing children who were boy scouts. Mr. Thompson, who was a troop leader, has been released on a $100,000 bond.

Lawsuit Filed Against Episcopal Church Youth Group Leader in Milford, Connecticut

Tremont Sheldon Robinson Mahoney filed a lawsuit against an Episcopal Church Youth group leader in Milford, Connecticut on the behalf of Jane Doe. In approximately 2007 , Jane Doe, was a minor when she was sexually assaulted by Jesse Osmun. At the time Osmun assaulted Jane, he was working as the adult advisor to a youth group at St. Peter's Church in Milford, CT. The youth group was called the Kenyan Project, and Jane was a participant in that program. Jesse Osmun sexually assaulted Jane on the premises of St. Peter's Church, an Episcopal parish in Milford, CT.

She finds that the child is often abused by someone who is close to them instead of a stranger. She finds it is very hard for the child to come forward because they feel ashamed. It truly is a horrible situation for the child because they think nobody will believe them because they are a child. She is currently working on the Newington Case where a gym teacher forced boys to shower together and he even would shower with them. Lawsuit Filed Against Newington Board of Education by Tremont Sheldon Robinson Mahoney on Behalf of 2 Former Students

A civil lawsuit has been filed against the Newington Board of Education as a result of two former students' claims of sexual abuse by James Brown, a former physical education instructor at the John Wallace Middle School in Newington, Connecticut. The assaults took place in the school's gym locker room showers during the school day during the 1989-1990 school year. At the time, Brown was serving as a long-term substitute for the regular classroom teacher who was out on leave.
