BRIDGEPORT, CT - Ricardo Julien, 39, a Bridgeport resident and former school bus driver in Trumbull with Dattco, was arrested Monday on charges that he allegedly raped a five-year-old girl, according to police.

The Boston Globe published an article in regards to sexual abuse at many prominent private schools. The list included 67 private New England schools and 16 Connecticut schools including Choate, Notre Dame, Fairfield, St. Joseph's, Shelton, Assumption Catholic School, Fairfield. The St. Georges School of Middletown Rhode Island is being accused of not protecting boarding school students in the 1980s from sexual assault by other students or teachers. Many Connecticut residents have attended the prestigious boarding school. To date, over 40 victims have come forward and many more are expected. Tremont Sheldon Robinson Mahoney continues the fight for all sexual abuse victims including those at schools, medical facilities, and religious institutions.
People need to know that state and district policies forbid teachers from spending alone time with students off site. The Bethel school board needs to do a better job enforcing these policies including making teachers and students aware of them.
Once again we see a situation where a school board has failed to protect students. Even after receiving notification of inappropriate sexual contact between a Stamford High teen and his teacher, nothing was done. School boards have to be vigilant. It's not enough to have policies; school boards have a duty to enforce these policies instead of taking a "see no evil, hear no evil" approach.
Fairfield Ludlowe High School Teacher Glenn Mishuck plead guilty to four of the 17 charges of sexual assault pending against him. What is curious, however, is the timing of his plea which came less than 24 hours after the prosecutor advised the court that she had evidence that Mishuck had engaged in conduct which was sexual nature with a student from Stamford where he had taught more than 10 years earlier. The principal from Stamford where Mishuck worked before coming to Fairfield had written a glowing letter of recommendation for Mishuck. This letter was written despite the fact that Mishuck had been suspended without pay 7 months earlier. The reasons for the suspension are unclear.
Connecticut State Police have arrested Brian Stroh, 30, of New Fairfield and charged him with 3 counts of sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor. The reported victims are six, nine and eleven years old. Christina Carver, Superintendent of Bethel CT Schools, confirmed that Mr. Stroh was a first grade teacher at the Frank A. Berry Elementary School in Bethel until his resignation on February 19. Mr. Stroh has also been affiliated with camps in the towns of Ridgefield, New Fairfield and Redding. He has been released on $250,000 bail but is confined to his home.

On the same day that Tremont Sheldon Robinson Mahoney filed lawsuits in Superior Court to allege that Stamford Connecticut school officials stood by while the former teacher, Robert Martinez, sexually abused students, another teacher in Wilton, Connecticut has been charged with sexually assaulting a teenage boy. Timothy Leonard a 7th grade teacher in Wilton is charged with sexually assaulting a 14 year old boy in a movie theater parking lot.
