A pick-up truck involved in a fatal crash in Ansonia on September 23, 2018 should not have been on the road according to a supervisor with the state DMV. The 2005 GMC Sierra pick-up driven by a 24-year-old Hamden man ran a red light at the intersection of Main and Bridge Streets, striking a Honda Accord and hurling it into a vacant storefront. That vehicle was driven by a 78-year-old senior citizen who died at the scene. The impact caused the tire to come off of the front driver's side rim of the truck.
