Easton Connecticut Residents Want Accused Predator's Name Taken Off Park

The following article was featured in the CT Post.  Since the article was written the Parks and Recreation Commission voted unanimously to change the parks name on November 9, 2012.  The article shows how difficult it can be for survivors of sexual abuse to come forward.  The article is below. Ted  Alexander Jr. always was the last one dropped off after Boy Scout meetings. The driver, his Boy Scout leader, would take the 8-year-old to a parking lot  on Black Rock Turnpike and they would wrestle in the car. Sometimes, the man  would shove Alexander's head into Toth's crotch. The man was Stephen  Toth.

Boy Scouts of America Files Reveal Repeat Child Abuse

Tremont Sheldon Robinson Mahoney found the following article interesting regarding the Boy Scout of America "perversion files" and the moving/relocating of child sexual predators. During our work with clergy sexual abuse, priests were often moved from parish to parish and continued to commit their heinous acts.  Much like the "perversion files", the church had secret archives detailing abuse.  The article below details what has been discovered at Boy Scouts of America. Internal documents from the Boy Scouts of America reveal more than 125 cases in which men suspected of molestation allegedly continued to abuse Scouts, despite a blacklist meant to protect boys from sexual predators. A Los Angeles Times review of more than 1,200 files from 1970 to 1991 found suspected abusers regularly remained in the organization after officials were first presented with sexual misconduct allegations.
