Multiple vehicle accident kills one in Connecticut

Even though millions of drivers across the country get in their cars and drive with hardly a thought, it is still one of the most dangerous practices people engage in on a daily basis. Millions of people die in traffic related accidents on a daily basis and many of them are caused by a series of events that could have been avoided had a negligent driver been more attentive on the road.

One such accident took place in Connecticut recently, as a driver failed to stop for traffic and slammed into the vehicle in front of him. The 29-year-old driver allegedly responsible for the accident didn't stop for traffic that was halted for heavy traffic in the left lane of the highway near an exit. As a result, his car hit the back of the vehicle in front of him, which then slammed into the vehicle in front of it. As a result of the three-way accident, a 35-year-old woman in the middle back seat of the middle vehicle suffered injuries that she could not recover from. She died at the hospital. Others were transported to the hospital to receive medical attention for their injuries.

Though it may seem like a clear-cut case of assigning blame in a car accident to hold a careless driver responsible for their actions, this is often not the case. In an accident involving more than two vehicles, insurers may try to pass the blame to one another, claiming it is not possible to determine who is at fault and therefore compensation cannot be claimed.

This can prove to be frustrating for an accident victim trying to recover from their injuries and piece their life back together. Rather than give up hope, it might be a good idea to consult an experienced attorney for guidance on what one's options may be for recovery.
