Over 20 people need medical treatment after recent car accident

So-called “fender benders” happen every day throughout Connecticut, but we all know that much more serious car crashes occur frequently as well. That was the case recently in Suffield, when a pickup truck reportedly collided with a bus that was transporting 20 people.

According to a recent report, this car accident occurred on July 25 at about 6:00 a.m. The collision was serious enough that a portion of the road was closed for a time afterward. Twenty people who were riding on the bus needed to be transported for medical care in the aftermath of the crash, as did one individual in the pickup truck. Fortunately, although a large number of people were hospitalized, none of the injuries that occurred as a result of this collision were described as life-threatening.

However, an investigation began to determine how this car accident happened. It is likely that the injuries involved could have been a lot worse. The reports indicate that it was the pickup truck that struck the bus, not the other way around.

When drivers and passengers in Connecticut are injured in car accidents that are caused by the negligence or recklessness of another driver, it may be possible to pursue compensation throughout a personal injury lawsuit. To do so, the injured party will usually need photos of the immediate aftermath of the crash, photos of the injuries that were caused and, hopefully, eyewitness testimony that can back up the claims of negligence. Compensation can be sought to cover medical costs and lost wages that are incurred as a result of the car accident.
