Spotlight portrays the Boston Globe’s team of reporters that investigated the childhood sexual abuse crisis in the Archdiocese of Boston. Aptly named, the Spotlight team of reporters worked for over a year documenting the efforts by high ranking church officials to cover up the sexual abuse scandal. The results of their reporting revealed a decades long pattern of conspiracy by high ranking church officials.

The cover up in Boston in many ways sounds similar to the many stories here in the Diocese of Bridgeport of children being sexually abused by priests and then the priest being transferred to a new parish. For more than two decades, Tremont Sheldon Robinson Mahoney has fought on behalf of the victims of clergy sexual abuse. A timeline of those efforts can be found at /Sexual-Abuse/
