4-vehicle car crash in nearby suburb injures 8 people

Multiple lanes of traffic in addition to rush hour traffic can unfortunately be the perfect conditions for a multi-vehicle car accident. Throw in a distracted driver or negligent driver and this can be the factor that turns this car crash possibility into a reality.

In a nearby suburb of Bridgeport, 8 people were injured in a multi-vehicle crash last week. Luckily, there were no fatal injuries. According to local police reports, authorities in Connecticut were called to the scene of a multi-vehicle crash. Police say that a woman driving a Ford Escape, barreled through an intersection during a red light.

This resulted in a chain reaction that involved three additional cars in the proximate area. Eight people, including three children, were hospitalized with injuries related to the crash.

Failing to stop at a red light at an intersection is a behavior consistent with negligence when it comes to proving fault. If the seemingly innocent Connecticut victims do decide to seek reparations for the injuries they sustained in the wreck, it seems that they may have a smoking gun.

The woman who sped through the red light likely did not intend to strike the other vehicle, however, this is irrelevant for personal injury claims. If the driver were found to be responsible, the woman would be found negligent or careless in the car crash that injured several people.

Being involved in a car accident often means enduring physical pain as well as mental, emotional and financial pain. In order to offset these hardships, victims should understand the recourses available to them. A personal injury claim could help victims address the injuries, damages and losses caused by the incident.
