Tractor trailer and car accident leaves one dead

On Behalf of | Jul 31, 2015 | Car Accidents, Firm News |

When it comes to vehicular accidents, many people think that the impact of the crash is what causes serious injuries. Though it is true that a collision can directly result in serious injuries, seldom do people consider fires from a collision which may not only lead to further serious injuries but may also result in death. Accidents happen, but typically a collision between a semi-truck or tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle can be more devastating because of the sheer size and weight difference between these different types of vehicles.

Connecticut residents may have read about the recent car accident on Interstate 91 that left at least one individual dead, and resulted in a fire. The accident is still under investigation but preliminary investigation and media reports indicate that the passenger vehicle driven by a 31-year-old man crashed into a tractor-trailer and got caught stuck underneath it. As a result of the impact, the passenger vehicle caught fire and the 31-year-old driver lost his life.

Car accidents are unpredictable. How they will begin and how they end is difficult to foresee. But, one thing is for sure and that is all drivers on Connecticut roadways have a legal obligation and duty to make sure that they are obeying all traffic laws. One cannot and must not take a break from being attentive while driving. The consequences of not obeying traffic laws can be serious.

A car accident in the blink of an eye can change a once able-bodied person to someone who may require long-term care for the rest of their life because of their injuries. The legal process to hold a driver responsible for their negligent behavior may seem overwhelming, but by talking with an experienced personal injury lawyer, many questions and concerns a family of the victim may have can be clarified, and they may find the consultation helpful to make the right decision.
