Recently there has been a great deal of writing in the popular press about the problem of sexual assault at the University of Connecticut. Last week, police arrested Geoffrey Justin Gillette, a former teaching assistant and coach at E. O. Smith High School in nearby Mansfield, CT. Mr. Gillette, who coached football and track, is accused of having sexual relations with three different students at E. O. Smith High School. It is alleged that he had sex with the girls at his parents’ home in Coventry, his apartment in Hampton, and in his motor vehicle.
