A New York dance instructor who has worked with nationally known artists was arrested Tuesday after police said he sexually assaulted a 13-year-old student. Police said Johnny Sadowski also texted the girl photos of his private parts. Sadowski, 26, of Euclid Avenue, Fairfield, was charged with fourth-degree sexual assault, risk of injury to a minor and using a computer to entice a minor to engage in sexual activity.
He was released after posting $5,000 bond. His lawyer, Thomas Ganim, declined comment.Sadowski has worked with Maroon 5, All Time Low, Naughty By Nature, Lumidee, and participated in an event featuring Ne-Yo and Lady Sovereign. He teaches dancing at Cap 21 Studios in New York City but has also taught at Gotta Dance Studio, a business owned by his mother in Fairfield.The alleged victim had been going to Sadowski for dance lessons since she was 5, police said. Recently, the girl’s mother was looking at her daughter’s cellphone when she discovered a text message from Sadowski stating sexual things he wanted to do to the girl, according to Sgt.Roberto Melendez of the Bridgeport Police Department’s Youth Bureau.Police said they seized the phone and subsequently discovered 500 texts exchanged between Sadowski and the girl. In many of his texts, police said, Sadowski graphically described sexual activity he wanted to perform on the girl, and he included a photo of his genitals.When police questioned the girl, they said, she admitted that Sadowski had inappropriately touched her twice. Police said Sadowski mentioned both incidents in his texts. In one of the texts, police said, Sadowski advised the girl not to wear underwear the next time she came to class.On his Facebook page, he states, “When you meet that one girl, treat her right. (D)on’t let her go. (N)o matter what you two go through, at the end of the day you should realize that something brought you two together at first.
