On Behalf of | Apr 16, 2014 | Firm News, Sexual Abuse |

A 68-year-old piano teacher was charged with sexual assault on Tuesday for allegedly touching students inappropriately during lessons, police said.

Bruce Connery, of Greenwood Lane, was charged with fourth-degree sexual assault and two counts of risk of injury to a minor, according to police. He was released on bail and is scheduled to appear in court next week.

Police began an investigation after a parent of a 10-year-old girl made allegations against Connery. Police said the girl told her father she did not want to take lessons with Connery anymore, because he touched her inappropriately during lessons. The lessons took place at the student’s home, according to police.

During the investigation, police received a second complaint, this time from the parent of a 15-year-old student. The second student also claimed that Connery touched her inappropriately during a music lesson in her home, police said.
