Federal prosecutors say that a former Granby police captain who was investigating child pornography secretly amassed one of the largest child porn collections in Connecticut.
Authorities filed court papers Tuesday for the sentencing Friday of David Bourque, who pleaded guilty last year to receipt and distribution of child pornography. He faces 17 to 20 years in prison. Prosecutors say Bourque was caught with more than 26,000 images and videos of child pornography on his computers that showed the sexual abuse of young boys, including infants and toddlers.
They say Bourque spoke to an FBI agent at a conference about infiltrating platforms pedophiles use. A message was left for Bourque’s lawyer, Richard Brown, who has said his client accepted responsibility for his actions and sought treatment for mental health problems Associated Press 6:19 PM EST, February 8, 2012
